The Gregory Z55 backpack is the second largest backpack in Gregory's 'Ventilated Backpacking' range. It is a popular model amongst backpackers and is designed for full-blown camping adventures lasting several days.

Like all Gregory backpacks, it is robust, flexible, fits like a dream and is wonderfully comfortable. You'll trailblaze for miles without even realising its there!

The Z in the model's name indicates that it is a ventilated backpack. This is a really useful innovation for those of us who like our hikes in the Arizona heat! Instead of the pack resting against the whole of the back like a regular pack, the Z55 incorporates Gregory's ‘Jetstream’ technology which raises the backpack slightly away from the middle of the back. Air is able to ventilate through the space between pack and back allowing sweat to evaporate.

Available in 3 different sizes, the Gregory Z55 backpack spans a capacity range between 51 and 61 litres. The backpack size you choose will depend on your height and the size of your torso. When measuring your torso, make sure you do so from the base of your neck to the small of your back.

If your size and desired capacity combo are not working out, you can look into the larger 'Triconi 60' or the smaller 'Z45' models. Note however, the Triconi 60 does not feature 'Jetstream' ventilation.

Tried and tested, the Gregory Z55 backpack carrys upto 40lbs of weight which is distributed evenly across the hips thanks to the well designed waistbelt. Backpack weight does not increase significantly across the sizes. The small weighs 3lbs 13ozs and the large is just 6ozs more.

Another great feature of the Z55 are the waistbelt's three adjustable size options which might just come in handy if you had a bit too much breakfast!

Is Your Backpack A Joy To Carry Or A Burden?

Famous for their superb comfort and excellent fit, Gregory backpacks have been enjoyed by backpackers around the world for over 30 years.
